Her music has been performed worldwide including The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, New York. Her orchestral work Empire States was an award winner in the 2003 UNESCO International Rostrum of Composers.
She also won an Arts Foundation Award for her prestigious opera Hey Persephone!, which enjoyed an acclaimed run at Aldeburgh and Almeida Festivals.

Deirdre Gribbin is currently writing a new one woman opera Crossing the Sea for Alison Wells and The Smith Quartet to be performed at Wilton's Music Hall July 3rd, 4th, 5th as part of The China Now Festival 2008.
