"The opportunity to work on my first film 'My Kingdom' starring Richard
Harris in 2001 has led me to explore the potential of my music in
radio, music theatre and future film projects. 'The Dark Gene'
featuring my music was a finalist in the 2016 Berlinale Film Festival"
Over a 3-year period I created a new work as a result of a
collaboration between Crash Ensemble, Cois Ceim Dance and Fishamble New
Play Company based on the work of architect Eileen Gray. This was a
wonderfully inspiring and provocative way of working. (see under plays)

Deirdre is currently Artistic Director of Venus Blazing Music Trust, a Charity working extensively with young people with learning disabilities developing self esteem through music and theatre.
Deirdre welcomes the opportunity of sharing her experience
and skills as a composer with those new to the world of contemporary
music. Getting out there can also be a lot of fun!
