Her music has been performed worldwide including The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, New York. Her orchestral work Empire States was an award winner in the 2003 UNESCO International Rostrum of Composers.

She also won an Arts Foundation Award for her prestigious opera Hey Persephone!, which enjoyed an acclaimed run at Aldeburgh and Almeida Festivals.

ANAHORISH, a setting of a poem by Seamus Heaney, premiered at the Whitla Hall, Belfast and given to Heaney as a present on receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from Queen's University, Belfast, 2 December 2008.

Three major orchestral works- UNITY OF BEING, EMPIRE STATES, AND VENUS BLAZING- have been recorded by RTE and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland for CD release during 2009.

Deirdre Gribbin's new one woman opera Crossing the Sea was performed at Wilton's Music Hall  as part of The China Now Festival 2008.
